Apatite- Geo Journal Week 3


This is the mineral Apatite. 
 It is very common in Iron County.  
This is the most common phosphate mineral. 
It had a white streak.
It couldn’t be scratched with a nail but could be scratched with a knife.

Its hardness would be about a 5. 
 Upon reaserching, I found that it has a hexagonal crystal shape.    It is also used in fertilizers because it contains Phosphorus which is needed by plants.
